A drive up Mount Torro is a must during the day or in the evening just to watch the sun set. Son Bou for its beach, Cala Galdana again for the beach and crystal clear safe water. Santo Tomas for an evening walk but not the best place to eat. Cala'n Bosch for evening eating and Fornells for the beauty. So many places to see - go and take a look for yourself.

Cala Galdana - A popular and scenic family resort

Cala Galdana picture gallery If your not staying in this resort go and visit. It has a fantastic horse shoe bay and is very scenic with a gentle atmosphere. The sea is warm, shallow and safe which makes the resort popular with families.

Evening nightlife is low key with most of the entertainment centred around the hotels or in 'the square'.

The resort is split by a river called the Algendar, the decked walkway along its edge is popular with evening 'strollers' who often go on to walk around the bay. The picture shows a view around the bay of Cala Galdana - All three main hotels are set back slightly from the beach. You can find more pictures of Cala Galdana and Menorca in the gallery.

I have read the beach can get scruffy by the end of the season but I've been in Ocober and things looked ok to me. There's the usual collection of sunbeds in the centre, the back of the beach can get a bit tricky as the sand can be spiked with pine needles! Cala Galdana picture gallery

Coves d'en Xoroi - Tourist attraction

Along the south coast worth a visit but it won't take long, a couple of hours maybe. Avoid Cales Coves nearby unless you have a 4x4 car. Its tempting to follow the road at first sight but it soon turns into an off road experience.

Disco in the evening more for the locals

Coves d'en Xoroi Coves d'en Xoroi which overhang the sea. This was a prehistoric dwelling, home to a mythical one eared pirate and is now a discotheque and vantage point with a most spectacular view. Close by are Cales Coves, where the island hippies once made themselves at home. Its a very poor long road down to Cales Coves and when you get there you wonder why you bothered. There's still the odd naked wandering around with his skinny dog in tow. Coves d'en Xoroi is worth a visit Cales Cove is not.
