Videos 1 and 2 - Cala Galdana

The holiday resort of Cala Galdana is the main coastal development of the municipal district of Ferreries on the central south coast of Menorca. It is approximately 22 miles west of the capital Mahon and the international airport. The warm shallow waters makes Cala Galdana a very popular choice with families as the beach is without doubt a major attraction to the resort. It has fine, clean sand with a good variety of water sports and other facilities available. During the summer many families from Ferreries make the short trip to the resort and enjoy a picnic lunch amongst the pine trees that separate the beach from the road.

Video 3 - Son Bou beach

Son Bou has the longest but not necessarily the widest beach on the island. With almost 2 miles of fine sand backed by a protected area of sand dunes and freshwater marshes. The resort has a few very basic tourist shops, along with a couple of medium sized supermarkets that should meet your everyday holiday needs. The beach is safe for children and as its so large there is plenty of space for them to run around without you losing sight of them.

Video 4 - Cuitadella

For those visitors to Menorca who have never ventured beyond the resort of Son Bou a visit to Ciutadella on the extreme west coast of the island will be a real eye opener, and will hopefully demonstrate that there is more to the island than lazy days spent of the beach. Ciutadella does not have its own beach, although for most visitors here this isn’t really a problem as a day on the beach wouldn’t really hold much appeal.

Video 5 - Cala Morell

Not a resort in my opinion but a worth while place to spend an afternoon. Located in the north west corner of the island Cala Morell has a small beach and a few places around where people can snorkle. Its a very rocky area and not realy suitable for unsupervised children.

Video 6 Arenal D'en Castell

The bay at Arenal d'en Castell is a near perfect horse shoe and is often pictured on the front covers of the major tour operators summer sun brochures. The warm shallow waters of the bay make this resort very popular with families with young children. But as with all beaches, do watch out for the safety flags, green means safe, yellow warns you to be careful and red you mustn’t swim at all. The beach is without doubt a major attraction of this resort with fine, clean sand and a good variety of water sports and other facilities available to suit all tastes.
