Here's a collection of video clips to the right around the Island of Lanzarote. Just click on any of the pictures in the menu, and small new window will open in which the video will play. |
Videos 1 - Playa Blanca
The holiday resort of Playa Blanca is located in the south of the island. It is the newest, yet fastest growing resort on the Island. The coastline around Playa Blanca is one large 9 kilometre wide bay which is then broken up into three smaller, but still large, bays. This means that the beaches in and around Playa Blanca are sheltered and ideal for swimming and sunbathing.Video 2 - Puerto Calero
Puerto Calero is a small harbour area in Lanzarote, although not a large tourist area Puerto Calero still offers plenty for tourists. Puerto Calero boasts the island’s most picturesque marina with some fine yachts lined up and some excellent restaurants. There are also all kinds of leisure boat trips, such as submarine excursions to discover the marine life beneath the surface of the Atlantic, boat rides to the beaches of Playa Quemada further south and Punta del Papagayo at the southernmost point of the island.Video 3 - Timanfaya national park
Timanfaya National Park national park in the southwestern part of the island. The parkland is entirely made up of volcanic soil. Volcanic activity continues as the surface temperature in the core ranges from 100 to 600 °C at the depth of 43 ft, this is demonstrated by pouring water into the ground, resulting in a geyser of steam which is an attraction for tourists. There is a public car park from which you can tour the volcanic landscape by coach using a road that is otherwise closed to the public.Video 4 - Costa Teguise
The second largest resort on the island after Puerto del Carmen. Not my choice but I must admit it is a popular resort and people return year on year. The planners seem to have been over enthusiastic, as the streets and street lighting created in the late 1980s still have massive areas where no hotels or housing have yet been built. There are a large number of restaurants, ranging from British-style pubs (too many for my liking) to traditional Spanish tapas bars.Video 5 - Los Hervideros
A stop off along the coastal road from Playa Blanca to El Golfo. You can spend an hour here walking around looking down at crashing waves through holes in the volcanic rock. Its a popular stop off point for coach tours. Bset of all, its free.- Videos
